Pokemon Main Series- My fav generation!
The best Pokémon mainline game for me!
Alola everyone!
Today, I will be sharing my favorite generation of the mainline Pokémon games that millions of players have treasured since the release of Pokémon Red & Blue in 1996. This Japanese franchise has since grown to eight generations of these “pocket monsters” (Pokémon’s original name), with Gen 9 coming Nov 18 2022.
You might’ve already guessed from the greeting of this post, but Gen 7 is by far my favorite Pokémon generation. In particular, the Pokémon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon games, the remakes of Pokémon Sun & Moon.
I really enjoyed the play through of this game, and especially the storyline. The graphics have taken a HUGE step up from Kalos in Gen 6, but the Alola region brought a breath of fresh air for the Pokémon franchise in terms of Totem Pokémon and Island Trials.
Among the new graphics and revamped map, many new features like regional forms and Ultra Burst were introduced in this gen. I also liked the Ultra remakes of Sun & Moon more as there was more lore and just in general better mechanics and storyline.
Another reason that my experience in Pokémon Ultra Sun was great was that I got into the Pokémon main series franchise at this time, watching the anime of Sun & Moon on Netflix as my first time learning about mainline Pokémon.
Note, the only reason that I say “mainline”, is that I had been playing Pokémon Unite and Pokémon TCGO before this and wanted to investigate the actual games. Check out my Pokémon Unite guides & strategies if you’re interested.
Nuzlockes of Pokémon USUM are also extremely enjoyable, and the wide range of encounters across the four islands of Alola enhance the journeys that you will take!!
Ultra Megalopolis, the Ultra warp ride, and the Necrozma storyline added in USUM made my journey the best of my time in the world of Pokémon, especially as a guy who loves lore and cutscenes (feel free to disagree).
